One of many lovely corner pubs in the well-to-do Bellenden quarter of Peckham, the Montpelier feels looser, friendlier and more informal than some of its rivals. It's always had a good kitchen, this place. A previous emphasis on local sourcing has shifted to host residencies, currently from Euro/seafood outfit Rocco.

It's also a very attractive pub, decked out in dark wood, blue and turquoise... like David Icke's wardrobe. You can catch some tunes here several nights a week, from jazz to DJs.
The beer choice is good but not world-beating, with four fairly common ales on draught on our latest visit.
