It's rare to find a good, solid pub in such a touristy place, but the Gipsy Moth ticks most of the right boxes. It's clean, roomy, tastefully done, as are all the pubs in Mitchells and Butlers' Castle chain.
The main bar is portioned into two or three sections, offering areas that are bright and bar-like, and a smaller raised area that has more of a snug feel. The most popular section, at least in summer, is the spacious beer garden. This sits right behind the bow of the Cutty Sark, offering a nautical view utterly unique to this beer garden.

The pub itself is named after a famous vessel. The small boat of that name in which Sir Francis Chichester sailed single-handedly around the world used to be moored on the riverside here, near Cutty Sark.
The drinking options are pretty good. Among the mainstream casks you'll find a handful of ever-changing kegs from smaller breweries. This is augmented with a decent cocktail list and a dozen each of red and white wines.
