Part of our Best Pubs in London microsite. See if we've included your local.
That view. It must be one of the best of any beer garden in London. You'd be forgiven for thinking you were in the Lake District.
We're looking west down into the valley of the River Colne and its dance partner, the Grand Union Canal and assorted reservoirs. Every two minutes a light aircraft buzzes the pub, before banking right on the descent into Denham Aerodrome.
Kids clamber over a vintage tractor, while parents tuck into very decent pub food. Meanwhile, the smell of scorched ribs wafts over from the summer BBQ.
The interior is no slouch either, tastefully decorated in dark woods, with bookcases everywhere. The wine list is exceptional for what is effectively a country pub.
Beer drinkers will be chuffed to bits by the selection, with eight draught pumps, all from smaller breweries. Whisk(e)y lovers will never leave, with 120 to choose from. What an absolute treasure this place is.
