This pub was voted the best in Bow and Mile End by Londonist readers.
The Morgan Arms received twice as many votes as any other pub in the area, when we conducted our poll. It was the first Bow pub to gentrify and do that whole gastro thing... indeed, it's so classy it has an 'Onglet Steak Monday', in which said cut of diaphragm can be yours for £14.50 with a glass of wine. It recently had another upgrade and now packs in the punters all through the week. We had a right old job fitting our 15 pub-crawlers into the place on a Wednesday night. It's big enough, but it's also a leading destination in the area for both food and drink, so tables were at a premium and we ended up outside. The booze is good, with five draught ales (including some local small breweries), and a wine list that goes way beyond the usual pub offering. Perhaps at its best on a quiet weekday mid-afternoon, when you can sit in one of the comfy chairs with a newspaper unimpeded by the dining masses.
Quiz night is first and third Tuesdays.
