Ever heard of the world's 'eighth continent'?

You probably wouldn't want to visit it, given that it's essentially a giant rubbish dump the middle of the Pacific Ocean. This man-made island formed by ocean's currents has some grim implications for the future of our planet. And, on Saturday 7 September, an adrenaline-fuelled outdoor performance confronts them in truly spectacular style.

Thank You For Having Us, the work of French street-theatre titans Générik Vapeur and flying trapeze experts Gorilla Circus, invites you to explore the impact pollution has on the environment during a nighttime walk across the City.

With the streets transformed into an artificial mass of plastic waste, contemplate questions like "Is this the end of life as we know it?" and "Have humans sacrificed natural life in the pursuit of technology?"

Sobering stuff, eh? But the powerful environment message stressed by Thank You For Having Us is delivered in an utterly thrilling fashion. We're talking daring aerial acrobatics and high wire stunts in the heart of London's financial district.

This sprawling outdoor performance is completely free to watch, and there's no need to book. Just turn up to Cheapside Junction or King Street at 8pm on Saturday 7 September.
