BrewDog Chancery Lane

BrewDog Chancery Lane

Part of our Best Pubs in London microsite. See if we've included your local.

The once mighty Draft House chain sputtered out during the pandemic, and many of the pieces seem to have been picked up by the even mightier BrewDog brand. It's almost a like-for-like swap, as both chains focus on purveying a large variety of ales, chosen from menus rather than pump handles.

The handover at Chancery Lane hasn't changed much. The decor's been swapped out, but it's still the same function-over-form drinking space. We haven't had chance to update our photos, but it hardly matters... it feels just the same.

This is a part of town with many long-established, traditional pubs (Princess Louise, Cittie of Yorke, The Lamb...), so it's good to see one or two craft-fronted places pulling in the punters too.

Judging from the excitable bustle that fills the place at any decent drinking hour. This branch is perhaps a bit more suity than the outposts in the suburbs, but it still has a laid-back vibe totally different from other venues in the area.

We haven't tried the food, but the menu looks pretty similar to other branches: burgers and hotdogs and that kind of malarky.
