New Pictures Show That Waterloo Station Is About To Change Completely

Images have been released of what Waterloo station is expected to look like when a new retail and leisure development opens.

The new Time Out Market is the main feature of the 135,000 sq ft space, which has been dubbed Waterloo.London. It will also have 40 'glass-fronted units' (shops, to the rest of us) across three floors, and a new pedestrianised street known as the Waterloo Curve.

The Time Out Market will consists of 17 restaurants and three bars, with 500 seats over two floors.

Waterloo.London will be located in the former Eurostar terminal at Waterloo station, and the redevelopment is the work of developed LCR, which was responsible for the new retail areas at St Pancras station

Adrian Lee, Development Director at LCR, said.

The future of retail will be defined by the availability of new and exciting experiences for consumers, and we’re excited to kick start this transformation by creating a destination inspired by the creative spirit of Waterloo.

Didier Souillat, CEO of Time Out Market, added

Waterloo.London — where almost 100 million passengers flow through every year — is a fantastic location for us. It is right at the heart of the city and the popular South Bank neighbourhood which is already attracting locals and visitors with fantastic restaurants, bars, galleries, theatres and more. We can’t wait to bring London’s outstanding and diverse culinary and cultural scene under one roof in such a great space.

Waterloo.London is due to open in spring 2021.
