This Jewish Community Centre Has Launched A Free Online Streaming Service

Jewish community centre JW3 may have closed its doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but it's still providing entertainment and information — with a new online streaming service.

The JW3 team has launched JewishOnline, a platform hosting content created by the UK Jewish community, as well as Jewish films, music, talks, family programmes and synagogue services.

JewishOnline is available to anyone with the internet, and there's plenty to keep you entertained. We've had a quick scroll, and already found a recording of comedian Ashley Blaker's 2018 show, Strictly Unorthodox, and one-woman musical, Confessions of A Rabbi's Daughter.

For a small fee, you can access UK Jewish Film content, and watch films including 2017 documentary My Mother's Lost Children, in which the director investigates the disappearance of his two older half-siblings. Germans and Jews, meanwhile, looks at the lives of the 200,000 Jews living in Germany today.

The live events section has a wealth of events, including live prayers and services from Cockfosters & N Southgate United Synagogue.

There's also a callout for anyone to submit their own content to the platform, including a chance to upload videos, or submit a link to a live streamed event.

Browse JewishOnline here. Many of the programmes are free, but as with many organisations at the moment, JW3 is accepting financial donations.
