Campbeltown — one of Scotland's whisky-producing regions — produces some pretty damn good Scotch. So good, in fact, that it was once known as the whisky capital of the world.
Some accolade, huh?
Not many whisky lovers get to visit, mind — the town's small size and remote nature means it isn't the easiest place to get to. That's why Glen Scotia, one of Campeltown's three distilleries, is inviting you to come and get a taste of the region.
And don't worry, you won't have to go far...
Why? Because Campbeltown is going on tour.
Well, part of it is anyway, in the form of an immersive whisky tasting experience, aptly named the 'Glen Scotia Grand Tour'. Genius.
Located in Borough Market, this immersive whisky tasting event promises to transport you to Scotland and back by reproducing the sights of the Glen Scotia distillery and the surrounding seaside town.
The hour-long experience begins with whisky-based cocktails and canapes inspired by local producers, before touring Glen Scotia's dunnage warehouse — again, tasting some of the whisky on offer. The whole thing has been designed from the ground up to exude the style of the Victorian era, with furniture and artefacts hand-chosen to recreate the feel of Campbeltown, right here in London.
Your ticket includes a delicious Glen Scotia cocktail, four drams of single-malt whisky and canapes. Plus, at only £10 per person, this trip won't even set you back the price of a train ticket beyond the M25, let alone to Scotland.
Click here to book your place, and experience a little bit of Campbeltown's whisky distilling expertise for yourself.
The Glen Scotia Grand Tour arrives in London from 15-17 March. You can find it at the Wine Pantry, Borough Market.
