An Utterly Glorious Garden Festival Is Coming To Hampton Court Palace

This is a sponsored article on behalf of the Royal Horticultural Society.

What could be more idyllic than a day spent exploring beautiful gardens in the grounds of an actual palace? Well, maybe one where you're also wearing a handmade flower crown. And drinking a glass of prosecco. And listening to the stylings of a live brass band.

Folks, you can do it all at RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival this July.

From Tuesday 2 July to Saturday 7 July, the Royal Horticultural Society is back at Hampton Court Palace, with six summery days of talks, workshops, shopping and — naturally — gardens galore.

Nurture your green thumb with the help of horticultural experts like Simon Lycett, Jamie Butterworth, Adam Frost, Joe Swift, David Domoney and Alys Fowler. They'll be dishing the dirt on everything from how gardening impacts wellbeing, to how to keep an indoor plant alive.

If you fancy getting hands-on yourself, workshops include terrarium-making, floral embroidery, and even calligraphy. And if you're flirting with the idea of growing your own veggies, make a beeline to Dig In Live, where the nation's top chefs, lifestyle experts, and growers are waiting to show you how it's done.

There are plenty of chances to relax and soak up the joy of being in nature, too. RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival has more than twenty beautiful gardens for you to explore. Admire unusual produce in Chris Smith's Edible Eden, pay tribute to legendary plantswoman Beth Chatto in a recreation of her world-famous, drought-resistant garden, and even explore a garden co-designed by HRH The Duchess of Cambridge.

All that exploring can be thirsty work, so grab a drink (and maybe an artisan picnic) and settle down in front of the festival's floating stage for some quality live music.

If you're feeling extra-indulgent, treat yourself to a ticket to the Wild Garden Banquet. Every day, Michelin-starred chef Merlin Labron-Johnson will be whipping up a five-course tasting menu, set in an immersive foraging garden.

The horticultural hijinks don't have to stop when you go home, either. The Floral Marquee, Plant Village, and Country Living Pavilion marquee has everything you could possibly need to create the garden of your dreams — whether you're working with sprawling lawns, or a humble window box.

RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, 1-7 July at Hampton Court Palace. Tickets start at £20 for adults, and kids go free*. Buy your tickets here.

**Two children aged 16 and under free with an accompanying adult.
