Free flower festival Belgravia in Bloom will return for 2020, with immersive experience experts Bompas & Parr involved for the first time.

The festival's fifth outing has a 'future of flowers' theme, and we're promised flowers that glow. As always, the whole area will be adorned with flower displays, in shop and restaurants doors and windows, but this time, there's a scented map to navigate by.

Those glowing flowers can be found in the festival's centrepiece, a Floral Imaginarium in Eccleston Yards, the work of Bompas & Parr. An interactive pavilion houses the world's first naturally glowing flower display. It makes use of recent research which shows how plants can be bio-engineered to glow, and suggests that we may be using flowers as a light source in future. Illuminating stuff.

Belgravia in Bloom 2020 takes place 18-23 May 2020, coinciding with the Chelsea Flower Show. We'll update this page with more information when it's announced. Chelsea in Bloom usually runs during the same week, so keep an eye out for those details too.
