Christmas really DOES come around earlier each year...
The Mistletoe Mixer — an unashamedly Christmassy cocktail pop-up that's all Wham! and retro fairy lights — launches on Thursday 1 August 2024, four months ahead of December, and almost five months premature of Christmas Day itself.
The kitsch 12-seater bar — which surely owes more than a sprinkling of inspiration to the wonderful Miracle pop-up — can be found hidden behind a toilet door at Merchant House in the City for two weeks only this summer, offering up unseasonably seasonal slurps including the 'Keep your change, ya filthy Flip!' (an eggnog-inspired drink garnished with a toasted marshmallow); the 'It's a beaut, Clark! It's a flute!' (a candy cane-topped peppermint champagne tipple) and the 'It's because I’m green isn't it?' — a spiced apple and ginger rum highball.
And to anyone now RAGING that they'd like to enjoy their summer first thank you very much, listen, we just wrote the article — it's not our bar.
Mistletoe Mixer operates on a ticketed basis, with Tuesday and Wednesday reserved for group experience bookings (£65pp including four drinks), and Thursday to Saturday for general tickets (£35pp including two drinks).
