Sweet! You Can Visit This Cute City Made Of Gingerbread

How sweet is this? A model city made from gingerbread and other candy items has arrived in London.

Gingerbread City has buildings, bridges, trains stations and other structures made by 100+ architects from different companies. Now in it's fourth year — the first time it's been held at Somerset House — and this edition's theme is transport.

Look out for a model train weaving among the buildings helipads atop biscuity structures, a rooftop tube carriage, and a boat named Gingerbread McGingerbread Face. We spotted three roundels, but we're sure there are more to look out for. There's even a beach made from brown sugar.

Jelly beans, candy canes, Smarties, boiled sweets and plenty of other confectionery favourites have been used for decoration.

Several London landmarks have been recreated in sweet ingredients, including London Bridge station, Battersea Power Station and Tate Modern. Take a look at these photos to induce a severe gingerbread craving.

Museum of Architecture's Gingerbread City is at Somerset House, 7 December 2019-5 January 2020. Tickets are £9 and can be bought in advance. While you're there, take a twirl on the Somerset House ice rink.
