1. Bhangra Burger, Brixton

Bhangra Burger made a name for themselves as one of the early traders on the street food scene. Their spiced-up burgers come with imaginative fillings such as the Crazy Lamb Jalfrezi with an Onion Bhaji on Top and the Keralan Prawn Naanwich. They explode with flavour and are an absolute must try for every Londoner. Don’t forget the masala fries.

2. The Georgian, Balham

This independent restaurant serves some of the best Georgian food in town. We love the liberal use of fresh walnuts, vegetables and herbs in Georgian cuisine, alongside richer dishes like the cheese-stuffed bread khachapuri. Make sure to get some adjika on the side – an addictive Georgian chilli sauce that you'll want to put on everything. A small selection of Russian dishes is also available, including borscht.

3. Franklins Wood Roasted Chickens, East Dulwich

These chickens roast in a little van built specifically for the purpose and now they can be delivered directly to your door. The birds come with a range of flavourings such as piri piri, lemon and thyme or ras el hanout, plus chips and sides. We love their coleslaw and home-style garlic bread too.

4. French & Grace, Brixton

This much loved Brixton restaurant is known for their satisfying wraps, and now you can enjoy them in the comfort of your own squidgy sofa. Flatbreads come with fillings such as lamb kofta studded with sweet nuggets of date. There are falafels as well. You can also choose an uber wrap, which means more fillings like chorizo and halloumi with coleslaw, tabbouleh, tahini, harissa and pomegranate seeds. That's some serious flavour.

5. Thali and Pickles, Tooting

Get your fix of Indian flavours from this Tooting favourite, which serves brilliant street food dishes such as Kolkata’s wonderfully fresh jhal muri — puffed rice with chickpeas, onions, tomatoes, coriander, fresh ginger and lime. It's all about the contrasting textures and bright flavours. There's also a range of kebabs, classic curries, tandoori cooked dishes and naan breads.

6. Zoe's Ghana Kitchen, Brixton

African flavours are finally getting noticed in London and at Zoe’s you’ll find curried goat with spinach, and classic West African dishes like jollof rice, which is rice cooked with tomato and chilli to make a rich and satisfying dish. There's also a range of Ghanaian beers, palm wine and desserts like puff puff — a Ghanaian doughnut rolled in sugar and cinnamon.

7. The Beer Shop, Nunhead

Didn't we all dream of the day we could get any alcohol delivered to the door? The Beer Shop stocks an excellent selection of craft beers. We can’t resist the razor sharp Beavertown Gamma Ray, which is full of passion fruit and pine flavours. There are local beers too, such as Brixton Effra amber ale and tasting notes that tell you which foods they’re best to drink with. There really is no need to move from the sofa.

8. Donna Margherita Lavender Hill

There are lots of brilliant newcomers on the London pizza scene but Donna Margherita has been doing it right for years. Way ahead of the curve, they consistently turn out silky smooth pizzas with pools of creamy mozzarella and a tomato sauce to die for. There's also an extensive wine list to choose from.

9. Mama's Jerk, Lewisham

Good jerk chicken can be hard to find in London, and we love what Mama's jerk are doing. Their BBQ wrap comes with jerk chicken, Mama's slaw and an addictive tropical mayo. There's also a salad with coconut and corn and a jerk veggie bean cake wrap. It’s a lighter way to enjoy Caribbean flavours. Jerk, but not as you know it.

10. Spit and Roast, South Bank

Spit and Roast, how you make us swoon with your exemplary fried chicken. These guys have been tweaking their recipe for years and now they serve the juiciest, buttermilk-brined meat coated in an addictive, craggy batter. The Korean hot sauce has the funk of gochujang chilli and it really makes the fried chicken sing, particularly when it's all piled into a bun. A killer sandwich that’s up there with the best in London. Hot wings are also available, along with fries with cheese and chicken gravy. Chicken gravy! Hello.
