The House of Illustration in King's Cross was founded by, and opened with, an exhibition of work by Quentin Blake. Now, the famous children's book illustrator is about to get a permanent gallery here.

Though the content of the gallery will continue to change, it will all be Blake's work. The inaugural exhibition, Seven Kinds of Magic, will include drawings from children's favourites such as The Witches, Rosie's Magic Horse, Magical Tales and My Friend Mr Leakey.

This is a new gallery in addition to the House of Illustration's temporary exhibition spaces. Over the last two years we've been very impressed with the high quality, and this will only make a great art institution even better.

Seven Kinds of Magic runs at House of Illustration, 2 Granary Square, N1C 4BH from 29 April-24 August. Entrance is £7 for adults and also grants access to their excellent Comix Creatrix and Shojo Manga exhibitions.
