Never quite made it into St Paul's Cathedral? Too overwhelmed to climb the stairs once you got inside? Now you can see the impressive sights without leaving your sofa.
The Google Cultural Institute has teamed up with St Paul's Cathedral to produce high resolution photos of the interior of Wren's masterpiece. Street View footage is also available, allowing armchair tourists worldwide to stroll the hallowed building.
Certain features from within the building have also been recorded in detail.
The Quire ceiling — the mosaic which covers the inside of the dome — has been photographed using Gigapixel technology, allowing the public to see it in far more detail than they could by craning their necks from ground level.
Another feature allows people to take a virtual stroll through the well-known Whispering Gallery, and perhaps best of all, Google Street View now extends to the skyline views from the dome, meaning that people unable to climb the stairs can take in the view. There really is no need to leave the house ever again.
