IMAGINE CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL: There's plenty of creativity for little ones at Imagine Children's Festival at Southbank. The weekend's packed with free events including music, craft, stories and a celebration of 100 years of Roald Dahl. Free, just turn up, 10.30am-4pm

FAMILY FUN AT THE GRANT: The Grant Museum's full of hands-on family fun this weekend. See the museum's most fascinating creatures. From marvelling at the length of walrus's tusks to counting the sharp teeth of a shark. Free, just turn up, 1pm-4.30pm

DIGITAL KIDS: See how technology and art work together at the V&A. Transport yourself into a famous painting using green screen or create your own souvenir postcard. There's also an extra Design Drop In on Saturday where you can meet cutting edge designers. Free, just turn up, 10am-5.45pm

Monday 15 February

HAPPY MOONDAY: Head to Regent's Park, Hub Café to join The Baker Street Irregular Astronomers, who will teach you how to view the moon in whole new way. If you're interested in amateur astronomy, discover what it's all about with this friendly group of star supporters. Free, just turn up, 5pm

DOES SCIENCE HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS?: Can science tell us all we need to know about the world? And what are the limits of scientific enquiry? Join the discussion at this LSE event featuring philosophy professors Jennifer Hornsby (Birkbeck), James Ladyman (University of Bristol) and Rupert Read (University of East Anglia).
