Various London landmarks will be bathed in light next week as Lumiere London light festival comes to the capital. Social media will be awash with stunning photos too. To make the most of it, we recommend giving these Instagram accounts a follow.
King's Cross
Watch as an illuminated figure appears to plunge into the water of the King’s Cross Pond Club, while a giant big top is projected onto the side of the Granary Building. Down at Regent's Canal, electromagnetic waves are the focus of an installation.

BAFTA @ 195 Piccadilly
Stars and directors of British films and television including Michael Caine, Olivia Coleman, Idris Elba, Steve McQueen and Julie Walters will be beamed onto the facade of BAFTA 195 Piccadilly, using images from BAFTA's archive and accompanied by a soundtrack by Ed Carter, who specialises in composing site-specific music.

Regent Street
An enormous elephant is the centrepiece on Regent Street, stomping its way through the arches. Meanwhile, stick men dance at Liberty House.

Oxford Street
Not to be outdone by Regent Street, an enormous net light sculpture will hang above Oxford Circus, based on a phenomenon discovered in the Japanese earthquake and tsunami in 2011.

Carnaby London
The intersection of Broadwick Street and Carnaby Street will be home to Shaida Walking. 2015 by Julian Opie, a giant illumination of a woman walking. If you're thinking it looks familiar, a similar installation by Opie can be seen in Regent's Place.

Westminster City Council
Much of the festival takes place in the City of Westminster, including the Garden of Light in Leicester Square. The three-metre-high neon letters from the top of Centre Point will be installed in Trafalgar Square (and the nearby fountains will be filled with glowing rubbish), and brightly coloured fish dance through the air in Piccadilly.

The creative company behind the whole festival (which has been putting on Lumiere Durham since 2005) is Artichoke Trust, which specialises in bringing art to public spaces.
