London Model Engineering Exhibition takes place at Alexandra Palace.

MODEL LONDON: The London Model Engineering Exhibition at Alexandra Palace features displays from scale model ships to remote control trucks, boats and aeroplanes and even a Meccano roller coaster. Special attractions include the 50th anniversary celebration display of Star Trek with a selection of models and space themed memorabilia and plenty of chances for kids (and big kids) to do some hands-on model making. £11, prebook, 10am

ZEALOUS X FESTIVAL: Catch the last two days of this festival of creativity at Rich Mix, Shoreditch. Take part in one of the free workshops on Saturday, see acrobatics and dance performances in the main space and round off the weekend watching films from a host of award-winning directors on Sunday. Mostly free, just turn up, until 17 January

LONDON SHORT FILM FESTIVAL: If film's your thing, you can't miss the last few days of this city-wide festival. The Harmony Korine Weekender features screenings by this truly original filmmaker, including the experimental A Crack Up at the Race Riots, and a collection of short films from his 20-year career. ICE SKATING: You can still get your skate on at Broadgate Ice Rink, near Liverpool Street Station. The magical rink in Exchange Square suits skaters of all ability (skate aids, in the form of cute penguins are even available) and is surrounded by restaurants and bars for you to chill in afterwards. LONDON BOAT SHOW: Get your best sea legs out for the final days of the London Boat Show at ExCeL London. In its 62nd year, this exhibition of all things nautical features some new attractions plus old favourites the Boardwalks and the famous Black & White Bar. £15/£22, prebook, until 17 January

BRIXTON BLOC REMEMBER BOWIE: As a last salute to the Starman, Brixton Bloc's final celebration - In Remembrance Of David Bowie takes place near where he was born — Stansfield Road.
