Who doesn't love images of space? Now we can look at some of NASA's best as they've been assembled for what's bound to be a spectacular exhibition. 22 January-15 May

The Museum of Innocence at Somerset House
The strange name belongs to a novel about the story of a wealthy socialite besotted with a beautiful shopgirl. Telling this tale through items sounds wildly ambitious. We're hoping the curators can pull it off. 27 January-3 April

Electronic Superhighway at Whitechapel Gallery
Computers and the internet have changed the nature of art, but what does the journey look like? This exhibition will explore how art has evolved from the 1960s right through to some of the cutting edge technologies used in art production today. 29 January-15 May

Painting the Modern Garden: Monet to Matisse at Royal Academy of Arts
It's not just the two great painters mentioned in the title. This will be a who's who of great artists all taking on one subject — the garden. Expect works by Renoir, Cezanne, Pissarro, Klimt, Van Gogh and more. 30 January-20 April

States of Mind: Tracing the edge of consciousness at Wellcome Collection
Following on from the wonderfully immersive multicoloured mist, comes an exhibition exploring disorders of the mind. Interpreted by artists, psychologists, philosophers and neuroscientists this promises to be another fascinating exhibition. The Wellcome Collection rarely disappoints. 4 February-16 October

Leonardo da Vinci: The Mechanics of Genius at Science Museum
We've seen a lot of his paintings but now it's time for Da Vinci the inventor to shine. Expect to see models of his creations, interactive displays and the modern inventions that were inspired by Da Vinci's sketches. 10 February-4 September

Vogue 100: A Century of Style at National Portrait Gallery
It's the centenary of Vogue magazine so expect this show to be awash with style icons, the height of fashion and brilliant photography. 11 February-22 May

Delacroix and the Rise of Modern Art at National Gallery
Eugene Delacroix created some fantastic Romantic masterpieces. But how did they shape the art that came after him? Follow the journey of his work and how it influenced the Impressionists and beyond. 17 February-22 May

Botticelli Reimagined at V&A
Botticelli is one of our favourite Renaissance artists; the Birth of Venus is stunning. But how did he inspire artists who came after him, and what did the worlds of film and fashion take from him too? This promises to be a diverse and engaging exhibition. 5 March-3 July

Sunken Cities: Egypt's Lost Worlds at British Museum
What treasures have been found in the depths of the sea? Two whole cities. Let this exhibition tell their stories and shine a new light on Greek and Egyptian civilisations. 19 May-27 November
