London FolkFest comes to Balham

AUDREY HEPBURN:
National Portrait Gallery opens a new photography exhibition about the life and work of actress Audrey Hepburn. See more than seventy images, including classic and rarely seen prints from leading twentieth-century photographers. £10/£8.50, prebook (some dates have sold out already), until 18 October

FOLKFEST:
London FolkFest is in its fifth year, with over 60 acts descending on The Bedford in Balham to take to three stages to perform music from a variety of genres. £10-£22, 2-4 July

PHOTOGRAPHING THE HOME FRONT:
London Metropolitan Archives in Finsbury offers a chance to explore photographs of London during World War Two, suffering the effects of enemy fire, but continuing to operate, regardless. Free, prebook, 3pm

COMEDY:
Last year’s Edinburgh nominee Mike Wozniak is previewing new material at the Museum of Comedy. Worth attending for his moustache alone, frankly. £5, prebook, 6.30pm

NORTH KOREAN DEFECTOR:
Hyeonseo Lee, who managed to flee her home country of North Korea at the age of 17, is at Frontline Club in Paddington to talk about her story and her struggle to rebuild and gain a new identity. £12.50, 7pm

BLINDFOLD RUN:
As part of RLSB's London Without Limits festival, there's a blindfold run training session in Hyde Park. Give blindfold running or guided running a go, ahead of the blindfold run at the Olympic Park in September. Free, just turn up, 7pm

GIN TASTING:
Head to The Mitre in Greenwich to sample six different varieties of gin, from large brands to small independent distilleries, and learn lots of gin facts. Age 18+. £30, 7pm

OUTDOOR THEATRE:
The Malachite Theatre Company bring a performance of Twelfth Night to the gardens of The Geffrye Museum in Hoxton. Bring a picnic and a blanket, food and drink also available to purchase on site. £13.20/£11, prebook, 7.30pm

ROCKAOKE:
Unleash your inner rock star at The Phoenix in Cavendish Square. Pick your karaoke tune, and belt it out with the backing of a live rock band. £5, 7.30pm

ST PAUL'S CONCERT:
The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment join the Choir of the Enlightenment to perform Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 in the setting of St Paul's Cathedral. Part of City of London Festival. £13.50, 8pm

Good cause of the day

Tonight, Starfish Greathearts Foundation hosts a classical concert at Rosslyn Hill Chapel in Hampstead Heath. South African born pianist Renée Reznek, international flautist Nancy Ruffer and the Afro-Jazz musician Pinise Saul will be accompanied by jazz composer and musician Simon Wallace. Money raised goes towards supporting vulnerable children affected by HIV an poverty in South Africa. More information and tickets.
