Forest Fringe performing arts festival

FOREST FRINGE: A performance arts micro-festival featuring an array of shows, intimate encounters, film screenings and experiments takes over The Place near Euston. £12, (includes the main show of the evening plus one other show of your choice) prebook, until 7 March

ELECTRONIC ARTS: London Electronic Arts Festival takes over Tobacco Dock for a two-day cultural celebration of electronic live music performances, parties, installations, masterclasses, screenings and conversations. Various prices, prebook, until 7 March

OPERA: If you're planning to catch La Traviata — English National Opera's return to more traditional fare — at the Coliseum, book now as tickets are selling out fast and the run ends on 13 March

SPIRIT OF NOWRUZ: The British Council hosts Spirit of Nowruz, an exhibition of digital art and photography representing Nowruz celebrations in Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan. Free, just turn up, until 15 May

ECHO CHAMBER: Theatre designer Chloe Lamford has been working with students to create a future dystopia where art is outlawed. The results will be on show at the Royal College of Art as part of the Curating Contemporary Art: Graduate Exhibitions. Until 22 March

CRIME SCENE LIVE: Become a crime scene investigator for the night at Natural History Museum, and work with experts to solve a murder mystery, from gathering evidence to cross-examination in court. £60, prebook, 6.30pm

HENRY VIII: Lauderdale House presents a family theatre show in which Henry VIII will tell you all about being king, what happened during his reign and all how he coped with having six wives. £7, prebook, 7pm

SLEUTHING WITH SHERLOCK: Museum of London holds an immersive event, tying in with the current Sherlock Holmes exhibition. Learn the techniques of Victorian fingerprinting, see how they contrast with modern day methods, and compare the two in crime scene situations.  £25, prebook, 7pm

MAGNIFICENT OBSESSIONS: Journalist Rachel Cooke talks to artist Peter Blake at Barbican about his career, and his habit of collecting the weird and wonderful in British folk tradition. COMEDY: Inveterate arse-getter-outer Phil Nichol is on at Comedy Carnival in Soho’s Bar Rumba, with Sofie Hagen, Philberto and MC Pete Jonas. £12, prebook, 8pm

FRAFF: Dyslexic compere Scottee presents Fraff to Rich Mix for an International Women's Day special. People who would't' normally get up on stage to read their poetry do just that. FORENSICS: If you can't make either of the crime scene events happening today but still have an interest in forensics, Wellcome Collection's new Anatomy of Crime exhibition lets you take on the role of pathologist — and we gave it a glowing ★★★★★. Free, just turn up, until 21 June
