As groups of people swarmed around London waiting for the 'swoop' announcement about where the Climate Camp was to take place, we sat at home watching it all unfold on Twitter. And were rewarded when the camp was pitched in Blackheath (not Greenwich, as the council is at some pains to point out) a ten minute bus ride from our flat. Despite a bunch of Guardianistas being befuddled at having to - *gasp* - cross the river, we can reassure them all that Blackheath is a gorgeous place with all the organic hummus they could want. Locals don't worry either; the camp is at the far western edge of the Heath, leaving the rest free for football, kite-flying and the fair over the Bank Holiday.
