A pleasant little gastropub on Lower Clapton Road, the Windsor Castle doesn't really do anything a 100 other modern pubs don't do, but it does do it very well. If that makes sense. Expect a warm greeting, a strong selection of ales (though second-fiddle to the nearby Clapton Hart), a handful of cocktails, an excellent food offering, a higher beard quotient than you'd get in, say, Angel, and outdoor seating for sunny weather. The front section of the garlanded, horseshoe-shaped bar has large tables for groups, and plenty of floor space to pack in the weekend punters. The back of the pub is given over more for diners.
