The Forester was designed by Nowell Parr, a mostly forgotten architect who designed dozens of pubs in these realms (see also the Old Pack Horse in Chiswick), as well as plenty of civic buildings. The Forester is a typical gem, with gables galore and plenty of glazed tiling so redolent of Edwardian years. The inside is pretty comfortable too, stretching out a long way back with various panelled rooms to explore. A sizeable beer garden and pavement seating offer yet more space. The place is tied to Fuller's, so few surprises on the beer front, while the Thai food is decent without being anything outstanding.
