I've always had a soft spot for The Globe in Bow Street. There's been a pub on the site since 1682, though the current premises date from 1830. The beer is good and changes regularly. The food is great (uncomplicated, home cooking) and I maintain they do the best chips in covent garden - if not the west end.

I am very fond of the Porterhouse have an excellent section of international beer and plenty of unusual choice and no usual commerical favourites

The porterhouse is definitely needed on here. Easily has one of the most impressive interiors of any pub that I have visited, spread over many floors, nooks and crannies. It is not your typical pub interior, it has an almost art-deco, maze-like feel to it. Fantastic selection of beers from across the world, from Germany, Nigeria to Poland. Also has several small and large screens spread across the pub, making it one of my favourite places to watch live sport.

I cannot believe that the cross keys is not in this list
