Nicolas Chinardet

"Nicolas arrived from his native France (the bit where they make wine and mustard) in July 2000, as part of the ongoing colonising effort started in 1066. Although well aware that English is little more than badly pronounced French, he had taken the precaution of studying the language at university before getting himself kicked out of the country (mostly for being by far too unFrench). The sad and corny truth is that Nicolas fell in love with London a few years before his migration after spending a week walking the streets of this hallowed city. It was like coming home. And so it passed that sarf London became home.During the intervening years, Nicolas has been singing with the London Gay Men's Chorus and has flexed is political muscle by getting involved with his local LGBT network and LGBT History Month. He has also accrued an extensive online presence (read: he doesn't have a life and spends too much time online) centred around his blog (http://www.pinksauce.co.uk).Nicolas likes taking pictures and reviewing things."

Pride London 2010

On Saturday, loud music, dancing, singing, bright colours, bare flesh and whistles coming from over 130 walking groups and floats filled the streets of the West End and the eyes and ears of onlookers for a good four hours. An estimated one million people gathered …

Review: Dirty White Boy @ Trafalgar Studios

Between 2006 and 2008, the ground floor of the building at the corner of Dean Street and Old Compton Street was occupied by the Dirty White Boy clothes shop. During that time, the owner of the shop, Clayton Littlewood, regularly sat on his little red …

In Pictures: London for a Secular Europe Protest

Around 300 people (mostly it seems members of the LGBT community) faced the loveless streets of London on a wintry Valentine’s Day afternoon to voice their opposition to the seemingly growing political interference of the Vatican and the Pope in European and British politics. The …

In Pictures: London @ London Art Fair 2010

We went for another look round London Art Fair with our trusty (rubbish) camera and, incorrigible as we are, started snapping (you’ll have guessed) at anything to do with London. The result of our efforts, presented above, reflects the wide variety of art objects (mostly …

Acres of empty pavement, miles of open road; even China Town was empty. London on the morning of Christmas day seemed only inhabited by pigeons and a few stray tourists wondering if nuclear warfare had finally been unleashed unto the world or if they had …
