More than 500 posters, maps and photos from London Transport Museum’s collection are now available to browse online.
As part of a collaboration with Google, a number of high-res images feature in digitised form, including many not on display in the flagship Covent Garden museum.
150 of the most popular London Underground poster designs can be ogled, including works by Abram Games, Dora M Batty, Edward McKnight Kauffer, Man Ray and Paul Nash.
The construction and growth of the District line — currently celebrating its 150th year — is the focus of another of the digital exhibitions.
A further section of the collection traces the story of the District line's Q stock trains, and London Transport Museum's efforts to restore the last three surviving 1930s Q stock carriages to operational condition.
New objects and digital exhibitions will continue to be added.
