Explore London In This Wiki Choose Your Own Adventure

Spend your adolescent years engrossed in The Horror in High Ridge, The Abominable Snowman and The Lost Jewels of Nabooti? Then you should probably choose to continue reading this article.

In an imaginative tribute to the Choose Your Own Adventure books, Kevan Davis has turned Wikipedia into a huge version of one. We chose to begin at London Bridge:

From here our choices include north (to Fishmongers' Hall) or south west to Minerva House.

And there we go, we've learned something new already.

OK, there is a conspicuous dearth of yeti/cowboy/alien-induced peril here. But it is a cute way to explore the city — plus the heavily pixelated images add some 1980s je ne sais quoi to the proceedings.

Perhaps the best thing, though, is that while you may start out somewhere very familiar...

... you'll soon be faced with something you're altogether less au fait with:

Another 'game' you can play (if you're so inclined) is to see if you can get yourself to a specific London landmark by making the right string of decisions.

Oh, and if you look at the top of the browser, you'll notice that there's no 'back' button, because in Choose Your Own Adventure, there is NO GOING BACK (even though we were definitely guilty of flicking back to the previous page and trying another route after a yeti had killed us).

Which reminds us of one final bit of good news: this is one Choose Your Own Adventure, where you're guaranteed not to end up dead.

Or are you?
