Say Hello To Autumm With This Food, Music And Arts Festival

This is a sponsored article on behalf of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Rather than weep at the fact that summer is on its way out, celebrate the fact the autumn is coming at this Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park festival. Boasting free entry, Harvest Stomp will see live music, craft beer, performances and games a plenty hit east London for a day of autumnal celebration.

Mosey on down to Stratford on 24 September for a harvest festival with a difference, and something for all ages. Play classic fete games such as splat the rat, or join in with an interactive performance.

Kids can take part in a cookery workshop, or sit down to watch some morris dancing before tucking into an ice cream. There'll be animals to pet, thanks to the mobile farm that will be parking up — if stroking rabbits, goats and sheep sounds like your thing, be sure to check this out with the children.

Parents will probably gravitate towards the selection of craft beers, or sample an array of chutneys and jams from the many food and produce stalls.

There'll be soft drinks too, plus tasting tables and plenty of street food to fuel you for dancing. Live jazz and folk will fill the airwaves of the park to give a festival feel to the day, from local choirs to bands playing world music.

Try your hand at traditional games and even barn dancing after learning how to concoct a tasty dish at one of the cookery classes. Maybe you're more of an arts and crafts person, in which case, sign up for a workshop to put your creativity to the test.

While you're there, why not take a ride on the world's longest tunnel slide at the ArcelorMittal Orbit, the park's awesome sculpture  — you can always just go to the top and admire the stunning city views if sliding's not up your street.

There are some great nearby bars in Hackney Wick that worth checking out too while you're in the area — getting to the venue is, quite frankly, a walk in the park, with many buses, as well as Underground and Overground lines servicing it.

Gather your friends and swap the hustle and bustle of central London for a day out with country vibes. The Harvest Stomp is completely free so just rock up and be ready to say goodbye to summer in the best way possible. Take a look at what's on — there are more events being added each day.
