What's your history with London?
I've lived in London since I was 21, leaving Essex for the world of stockbroking. That's a thing of the past, though: I quit the City in 2016 to concentrate on my company The Race Organiser - doing what it says on the tin, we organise hundreds of running events in London's Royal Parks and beyond.
Where's your favourite spot for a drink in London?
The roof terrace of the Oxo Tower Bar in summer, for the incredible views to the north of the Thames. The river's going to be a recurring theme in these answers...
Where do you go to get away from it all?
I go running when I want to clear my head. My favourite routes take me to Hampstead Heath, or, if it's early on a weekend, along the Embankment next to the river — before 9 am you have the place to yourself.
What one thing would you change about London?
The traffic.
What's the last amazing thing you did in London?
Slid down the ArcelorMittal Orbit in the Olympic Park, as research for one of our races, Upslide Down, where you run up to the viewing platform and then you slide all the way down!
Which part of London can you not get enough of?
The Thames, for the views - it's the one part of central London where you can see for miles.
Which part of off-limits London would you most like to see?
The Natural History Museum archives would be really interesting...
If money were no object, what one London thing would you buy?
Got to be the Royal Albert Hall — it'd make a handy HQ for our events company!
If you could travel back in time, which era of London would you most like to witness?
Not exactly an era, but it would've been amazing to be in Trafalgar Square on VE Day.
Favourite Londoner?
David Attenborough. By a mile.
Favourite piece of London literature?
The Sherlock Holmes canon.
Best London memory?
Running the London Marathon for the first time — the atmosphere was indescribable.
And finally, what's your weirdest London memory?
Cycling along the canal in Camden and somehow ending up in the canal, along with the bike! A guy walking past helped fish me out, but he was crying with laughter. Embarrassing...
