Think you can't afford a hotel room with views over the London skyline? One budget hotel chain is now offering rooms with a view for just a £1 upgrade charge.
Pick from a view of Tower Bridge or Buckingham Palace — you don't need to book ahead, just request the view of your choice when you check in, pay the extra £1 to upgrade and you'll be lording it over the city by sunset.
Sounds good to be true, doesn't it? And yes, the stunt by easyHotel on Old Street comes with a catch.
The 'view' is a fake one, courtesy of fake windows in the hotel rooms, which are designed to look like the London skyline.
Jorge Rodriguez, Night Night Manager of easyHotel, said:
Many London hotels charge rates as high as £10,000 for a premium view from a room. Why shell out a fortune when you could be spending your hard-earned cash on the experience of the city itself?
Seems sensible to us.
