Winter at South Bank is bursting with things to get you out of the house and make the most of the season.

South Bank London has just launched its Winter Guide — your official black book for the festive season when it comes to what's on at the riverside.

Along with its Winter Guide, every year South Bank London — the promotion agency responsible for South Bank's transformation over 25 years from bleak environment to world-class destination — reveals a stunning Winter Poster. We think 2016's artwork (above) is a cracker.

The A-Z theme created by Red Gate Arts, means you can guarantee there are at least 26 incredible reasons to make South Bank your ultimate winter destination.

Whether you're looking for shows or exhibitions, the South Bank London microsite has all you need to know when it comes to pleasing all ages, from energetic kids to cultured 30-somethings, to grandparents. With the unveiling of the 2016 Winter Guide, it only means one thing: the festive season is truly under way in South Bank.

If you want an evening's entertainment, or an afternoon to get you into the festive spirit, there'll be something in the Winter Guide to tickle your fancy. Check out the ever-popular Winter Market, with wooden chalets, German sausages, and more mulled wine than is possible to drink in an evening.

After something a bit more cultural? Check out Black Star, the BFI's film season dedicated to the power and versatility of black actors, or head to the National Theatre to be wowed by what's on stage. If Christmas shopping, mince pies and money off sounds appealing, it's an idea to explore Oxo Tower Wharf on 1 December, where there will be a late night shopping evening to stock up on some unique gifts.

The South Bank schedule is chock-a-block with things to see and do. So before you even contemplate leaving the house, give the Winter Guide and the South Bank London a read and we guarantee your day will be filled with festive fun.
