That New Walking Challenge You Were Looking For? Try The London Spiral
A spiral walk around London.

You've ticked off the London LOOP and Capital Ring. The Thames Path has been followed from source to sea. What is left to explore?

May we present the London Spiral.

This epic walk begins conveniently at King's Cross station. From there, it gradually spirals anticlockwise, uncoiling through the suburbs like a vast ammonite shell.

The route was devised by Tim Ingram-Smith. Inspired by earlier projects, Tim wanted to develop a route through the capital that would take in interesting locations from every fathom of the city.

The walker will pass through the dense attractions of the inner-city, the town centres and residential streets of suburbia, plus dozens of parks, woodlands and areas of countryside in the outer sections.

At the time of writing, Tim has almost completed the 200 mile corkscrew of the capital, and will shortly finish at Gravesend. He's blogged each walk with photos, providing a virtual guide to this most dizzying of routes. Should you wish to follow in his footsteps, the complete route can be found over on London Spiral Walk blog.
