You Can Now Get Your Face Printed On A Coffee At This London Cafe

A west London cafe mini-chain is now serving up coffees topped with latte art of your face.

Élan Cafe is already popular with Instagrammers thanks to its flowery walls, marble tables and overwhelming pinkness. It's now added another reason for photo-seekers to visit.

Using a 'Ripple Maker' — a machine that 'prints' images onto the top of your drink — Élan will top your drink with a #Mugshot. That could be a photo of you, a quote, or another image. So far, we've only seen the results from Made In Chelsea star Louise Thompson (above) and, er, deceased rapper Tupac (bottom image).

Well, it's better than having your name written on your cup like in Starbucks, we suppose, and kudos to Élan for finding another way to keep the social media crowds flocking through the doors.

Elan Cafe introduced its #Mugshots on Instagram Stories

The face-on-a-coffee mugshot hasn't appeared on the official menus yet, but from our experience, that's no surprise. The Lucky Charms latte doesn't appear on the menu either — only those in the Instagram loop know of its existence. What we do know is that it's only available at the Brompton Road branch — not Park Lane — and it'll set you back £7.50. Just turn up with your picture on your phone, ready to send it to Élan when you get there. They'll put it through their magic machine, and voila.

Not into coffee? Beer Ripples are also a thing. No word yet on anywhere in London that's serving up your face in beer foam, but surely it's only a matter of time.

We visited Élan back in February. Have a watch of our video:

Élan Cafe is located at 48 Park Lane, Mayfair, W1K 1PR (#Mugshot not available here) and 239 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, SW3 2EP.
