Selfridges Has Just Unveiled Its Christmas Windows

It may only be October, but Christmas has well and truly arrived at one of London's best-loved department stores. Over 100 Selfridges elves toiled for 10 days to set up its festive windows, which this year have a bit of a futuristic flavour.

With the theme, A Christmas for Modern Times, these newly unveiled displays retell classic fairy tales through a contemporary lens. Think a giant's beanstalk made of steel wire, an enchanted forest illuminated by neon bulbs, and a Siriano ballgown for Cinderella.

There are 13 individual window displays for you to discover, all showcasing Selfridges wares (in case you're feeling especially generous this year). Inspired by the Owl and the Pussycat, the shop's biggest triple-sided window features a beautiful pea green boat, filled to the brim with a festive feast from Selfridges' famous food hall.

The Oxford Street store's interior has had a festive makeover, too — with a 13 metre Christmas tree plonked in the atrium and over 85,000 baubles hung throughout. Come take a look for yourself and get your first dose of Christmas cheer.
