Camden Market Opens Its First Ever Ice Rink On Friday

With ice rinks on rooftops and in Royal Palaces, we didn't think London's ice skating scene could surprise us. But we admit, Camden Market's chilly addition is a bit of a curveball.

A 25m long real-ice rink — a fairly sizeable offering — opens in the busy North Yard this winter. The long, thin rink is wedged in along the cobbled stretch beyond the Amy Winehouse statue close to Chalk Farm Road, outside businesses including The Cheese Bar (hello, post-skate fondue) and The Camden Grocer.

The whole area is transformed into a North Pole setting, with fairy lights and antique chandeliers (how very Camden) illuminating the rink itself, and Santa making occasional appearances.

With your ice rink ticket, you can bag several discounts in the local area including 10% off all hampers at The Camden Grocer, 10% off at chai and coffee specialist Pamban, 20% off at lively bar and restaurant FEST Camden, and 15% off at chicken restaurant Kuku Riku.

Camden's Christmas Ice Rink, open 15 November 2019-9 January 2020. Tickets are £6-£12 and need to be booked in advance. See London's other festive ice rinks, including a scented, New York-inspired one, and a free-entry one at a rooftop bar.
