Win Tickets For Steam Trains On The London Underground

This competition is brought to you in partnership with London Transport Museum.

Steam train running along the Metropolitan line for Tube150 last year.

Celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Hammersmith & City line with a heritage steam train ride along the pink line on Saturday 2 and Saturday 9 August.

Making up the train will be: Metropolitan Locomotive No. 1, Metropolitan Milk Van, the Chesham Set, the 1920s Sarah Siddons electric locomotive and the beautifully restored Jubilee Coach 353.

The first run of the day will go between Northfields and Moorgate (steam hauled there, electric on the way back). The next three runs will go from Moorgate to Hammersmith and return to Moorgate (electric hauled out, steam hauled return). The last run will be from Moorgate to Northfields (electric hauled there, steam return). Actors and a brass band will make for jolly entertainment at Moorgate Station. Feel free to wave your hanky at the train but be careful not to get smoke in your eye!

London Transport Museum are giving away two pairs of these very special train tickets to Londonist readers for rides on the Hammersmith & City line on Saturday 9 August.
