See John Lewis Christmas Adverts Recreated In 10,000 Lego Bricks
2016 advert Buster the Boxer was created from 1,200 bricks, taking 23 hours

Just when you thought it was safe to forget about the John Lewis Christmas ad and get on with your life, their restless marketing team has found another way to keep it in the spotlight — recreating it in Lego.

Buster the trampolining Boxer has been recreated from 1,200 of the plastic blocks of joy, on display in the Oxford Street store from 24 November 2016.

1,700 bricks and 33 hours went into 2015's Man on the Moon

He's not alone. Four of his historical counterparts have also been recreated from Lego. You might not be taken with Buster this year, but what about the Man on the Moon (2015) Monty the Penguin (2014), or even the Bear and the Hare (2013)? There's even a recreation of The Journey (2012), which we'd forgotten ever existed until we went back and watched it *wipes away tear*.

Who could forget 2014's Monty the Penguin? 2,300 bricks and 22 hours went into recreating his story

Almost 10,000 bricks went into creating the five scenes, which took seven 'expert Lego builders' (where do we apply for that job?) a total of 116 hours to construct. The company who created the scenes is Bright Bricks, which was also for bringing by a Lego train to Covent Garden over Christmas 2015.

Our personal favourite was 2013's The Bear and the Hare; 2,400 bricks and 20 hours

Can the Coca-Cola truck say it's been recreated in Lego? Probably not. Find out more about how the John Lewis displays were created here.

We'd forgotten about 2012's The Journey, but the 1,800 bricks and 18 hours that went into it is impressive

See the Lego display in the John Lewis toys department on the fourth floor of the Oxford Street from 24 November 2016, for two weeks.
