Put on your boots, pack your sandwiches and explore London with TfL and Walk London's free weekend of Autumn Ambles.

The 42 guided walks range from short strolls to challenging treks — exploring streets, skyscrapers, markets and meadows.

See the bright lights of the real West End with a 1.5 mile walk around Soho, Chinatown and Covent Garden. If you can't get enough of the glamour, take a walk encompassing some of the most popular filming locations in London.

If history is more your thing, take a walk from St Paul's to Chancery Lane, delving into the world of printing, priories and prisons. There's a second world war walk, a wander along hidden canals, as well as opportunities to see the evolution of the Thames and to gaze at the best street art east London has to offer.

Walk London's Autumn Amble Weekend takes place 1-2 October. All walks are free, and many require booking — check individual walks for details.
