London's Getting A Huge Floating Garden
An artist's impression of Farmopolis

London is getting a massive floating garden β€” and even better, it's recycled.

Farmopolis β€” which arrives at The Jetty on Greenwich Peninsula on 30 July β€”is being created with tens of thousands of plants from this year's Chelsea Flower Show. They would have otherwise been binned.

As well as plenty of blooms to admire and sniff, Farmopolis will offer a summer programme of live music, supper clubs, literary salons, immersive theatre and more.

The views across the Thames promise to be pretty special too.

There are already plans afoot for more green spaces, orchards, and farm-to-table restaurants to appear on Farmopolis over the coming months and maybe years.

And it'll all be here a heck of a lot sooner than that there Garden Bridge.
