Jazz hands and dance shoes at the ready — West End Live is back this weekend with the casts from more than 30 West End shows giving free performances.
For the 12th year, crowds will descend onto Trafalgar Square to watch musical numbers by those more used to treading the boards than dodging the pigeons. The full stage schedule can be seen here, with the likes of Matilda The Musical, The Lion King and Stomp on the bill.
Elsewhere in Theatreland this weekend, the final of West End Calling takes place. The singing competition for under 21s comes to a head at the Arts Theatre, with a judging panel consisting of current West End stars including Oliver Savile (who plays Fiyero in Wicked) picking from the 16 finalists. Tickets to watch the final are £15 and need to be booked in advance.
West End Live 2016 takes place 18 June (11am-6pm) and 19 June (noon-6pm). Events are free and there's no need to book — so it's worth getting there early to get your place. Gates open 10.30am Saturday and 11.30am Sunday.
