A platform seating 22 people will be installed 100ft above Hyde Park this summer — and it's completely free to ascend.

It's part of Barclaycard British Summer Time Festival. If you didn't manage to get yourself tickets to see Carole King, Stevie Wonder or Take That belting out their tunes, you can still take part in free events in the park in the Open House part of the festival.

The Barclaycard Betterview platform will be in action for free from 4-7 July, with a sky-high busking performance and a dating event taking place on Tuesday 5 July. Tickets to ride on the platform are free and can be booked in person on the day.

Elsewhere in the park, there's a food market, Wimbledon screenings, daytime DJs, and badminton and ping pong sessions. Films including Groundhog Day, The Theory of Everything, E.T., and The Breakfast Club will be screened in the open air at free Coca-Cola Film Nights.

Gorilla Circus will be running trapeze lessons in the park too — a fee applies for these classes, which need to be booked in advance.

Barclaycard British Summer Time Open House takes place 4-7 July, daytime and evenings. Events are free and most don't require booking (although they're on a first come, first served basis, so be prompt). Check website for details. Book in advance for Gorilla Circus.
