Trains into and out of Paddington Station are severely disrupted this morning after a train derailed last night.

An empty train ran through a red signal in a siding just outside the station yesterday evening, causing the train to derail automatically. No-one was injured, but signalling equipment and overhead wires were damaged in the incident.

Only three of the six lines into the station can currently be used, with Great Western Railway, Heathrow Connect and Heathrow Express services all affected.

National Rail is warning that a limited service will run to and from the station until the end of today (Friday).
