Drink Cider On London's Canals Aboard A Swedish Boat

This summer you can sip Swedish cider on board the Rekorderlig Midsommarstång boat, as it journeys along the Regent's Canal.

From 25 June-24 July, Midsommarstång — the Swedish midsummer celebrations — will be marked over here, with Londoners invited to clamber aboard the vessel and drain bottle after bottle of sweet, sweet Rekorderlig.

If you're slightly more refined than that, you can always sign up for the chef's table, where you'll get to scoff a classic Midsommar smorgasbord prepared by celebrated Swedish chef Roger Olsson.

The chef's table: yes please

That's not all; the boozy boat will be stopping off at various cider-soaked pop-ups across the city, including Paddington Basin, Granary Square and Olympic Park. If you get sea canal sick, just rock up to one of these and indulge in crayfish barbecues, live music and traditional games like Kubb and Brännboll — all under a maypole of glittering lights.

If you're looking for love, the festival also includes a speed-dating experience with a midsummer twist.

Oh, and did we mention the cider? There'll be cider.

Events run from 25 June-24 July. For various event dates, prices and further info, visit the Midsommarstång website.
