Ever fancied taking a ride on a vintage bus around London's streets? If so, this is your lucky week — you can do so as part of Shepherd's Bush bus garage open day this weekend.

The exact model hasn't been announced, but tours from the bus garage to Notting Hill and Kensington High Street will be departing every 15 minutes between 10am and 3.15pm.

While you're waiting for your turn, get up close to two heritage buses from London Transport Museum’s collections: RM1 and DMS1.

Other activities going on as part of the open day include behind-the-scenes tours of the garage to see the vehicle docks and maintenance areas, and family-friendly craft activities.

These bus garages also have open days coming up later in the year:

  • Holloway (Metroline) on 9 July,
  • Bromley (Stagecoach London) on 13 August
  • Twickenham (Abellio London) on 17 September
  • Stockwell (Go-Ahead London) on 15 October.

Shepherd's Bush bus garage open day takes place 21 May, 10am-4pm at Wells Road, W12 8DA. Admission is free.
