Celebrate Work Of Roald Dahl By Dressing Up

The centenary of Roald Dahl's birth is celebrated at Twickenham's Strawberry Hill House this summer, starting with the Festival of Fun, Fairytales and Fables.

The day-long event is enough to get all kids excited about books and fairytales. They can take part in a pirate treasure hunt, become a knight or get up close to birds of prey. Best of all, fancy dress is encouraged, so it's a chance for parents to get another use out of that long-since abandoned World Book Day costume.

The festival may only be for one day, but the Summer of Stories continues at Strawberry Hill until September. Every Saturday throughout the summer, families can take part in literary themed events including teddy bear picnics and Roald Dahl-themed workshops.

The Festival of Fun, Fairytales and Fables takes place on 5 June, 11am until 4.30pm in the grounds of Strawberry Hill House, Twickenham.  Entry to the event is free but some activities will be charged.
