Does your wit sparkle like a bottle of 1757 Ruinart? Do you like quaffing wine punch and port so much, that you barely flinch when it gives you gout? Then you'll want to attend this Georgian supper club.

The Georgian Dining Academy — taking place at Simpson's Tavern in Cornhill next month  — is the final word in foppish feasting.

Hosted by Miss Kitty Pridden and Miss B, you'll devour a hearty, booze-laced repast, while bathing in candlelight and meeting some intriguing characters from London's Georgian past.

Garbing up as a Georgian is most definitely encouraged, but not obligatory (although you're going to look pretty silly if you turn up in a tracksuit, so just dress up, OK).

Georgian Dining Academy takes place at Simpson's Tavern, Ball Court, 38 1/2 Cornhill, EC3V 9DR on 9 June from 7pm. Tickets £68 +bkg (cheaper early bird tickets available till 26 May).
