SHAKESPEARE 400: Shakespeare's Globe is jammed with Bard-based events this weekend to celebrate Shakespeare 400 — 400 years since the death of Britain's greatest playwright. Join The Complete Walk, 37 specially-made short films being screened along the Thames, between Westminster and Tower Bridges. There are loads more events going on too. SHAKESPEARE RELOADED: Watermans celebrate all things Shakespeare this weekend with a huge lime-up of events singing the Bard’s praises: Shakespeare Reloaded. Get stuck into a digital project with Squidsoup, cabaret by The Ruby Dolls or enter The Tempest playspace. Price vary, see website for details

A-Z OF LONDON: Head to London Transport Museum's Open Weekend at its Acton depot, a site housing over 370,000 objects. As a celebration of 100 years of the Johnston font, this weekend's events include calligraphy demos, printing and miniature railway rides. £10 (under 16s go free), prebook, 11am-5pm

FEAST OF ST GEORGE 2016: Trafalgar Square will be bursting with all things English this Saturday as London celebrates St George's Day. KAYAKATHON: Over 100 intrepid kayakers will be wielding their paddles as they take to the Thames to sail 26 miles. Watch the spectacle as they set off from Shadwell Basin around noon and head towards Chiswick, passing some of the city's most famous landmarks on the way. ENTER A VICTORIAN PHOTOGRAPH: Step into the frame at Museum Of London as you go behind the scenes of a Victorian photograph. Create fictional characters and their life stories, then use technology to end up in a Victorian photo. Free, just turn up, 12.30pm/2pm/3.30pm
