Butterflies And An Inflatable Alien Light Up Canary Wharf
On The Wings Of Freedom by Aether & Hemera brings a cloud of butterflies to Jubilee Park. You can use your mobile phone to activate the lighting effects.

Lumiere London, starting tomorrow, is the event everyone's talking about this week. But Canary Wharf is already aglow with art installations as part of its own festival, Winter Lights.

18 works of art light have been installed in the area surrounding Canada Square, and they're all free to visit. Here's a taster of what you can see.

Fantastic Planet, by Amanda Parer at Westferry Circus. The inflatable alien installation was inspired by the cult science fiction film Fantastic Planet.

Bit.Fall by Julius Popp sources words from live news feeds and illuminates them in mid-air. See it at Chancellor Passage.

My Light Is Your Light was created by Alaa Minawi in solidarity with Syrian refugees. The six neon illuminated silhouettes in Jubilee Park represent a family fleeing their home.

Globoscope by Collectif Coin is a selection of luminous spheres which are programmed in a sequence using sound and light. See it in Jubilee Park

Winter Lights 2016 is on across the Canary Wharf estate and runs from 11-22 January. The works are best viewed between 4pm-9pm. All works are free to the public.
